Summary: Microsoft Scripting Guy, Ed Wilson, discusses day three at the Scripting Guys booth.
Microsoft Scripting Guy, Ed Wilson, is here. This will need to be a quick post, but I wanted to try to help to catch you up to date with the goings-on here at Microsoft TechEd 2012 in Orlando, Florida. The morning started off with our special guest, Microsoft PowerShell MVP, Jeffery Hicks. Here is Jeffery relaxing before the doors to the exhibit hall officially opened.
Jeffery, aka “Professor Script,” had tons of visitors who brought their toughest questions. People lined up and gathered around to hear his pearls-of-wisdom. As seen here, Jeffery quickly opened up a Windows PowerShell console to illustrate his points. In fact, it seems as if he soon migrated into teaching mode.
Following Jeffery’s amazing appearance at the booth, I had another autograph session at the O’Reilly booth for my Windows PowerShell 2.0 Best Practices book. People were lined up before I even got there. Here is a picture of the line as I was approaching the booth.
Visitors to the Scripting Guys booth continued in their efforts to draw the perfect Dr. Scripto. One guy followed his drawing with an attempt at doing the “living Dr. Scripto” imitation. I am not sure how well he succeeded. Perhaps you can judge for yourself. Does he really look like Dr. Scripto?
Windows PowerShell PM, Travis Jones, stopped by the Scripting Guys booth to talk to some of our visitors and to have his picture taken with the Scripting Guy and the Scripting Wife. Here is Travis.
Iit is about time for me to head to the Windows PowerShell Best Practices Birds-of-a-Feather session. I am doing this session with Don Jones, and it will awesome. So many people signed up for this session that they had to add a second session. That that will be held tomorrow with Jeffery Hicks.
This just in! Windows guru, Mark Minasi, will be at the Scripting Guys booth tomorrow at noon to sign autographs and to answer questions. If you are in the area, make sure you stop by to say, “Hi”. Mark is a super guy, and he is a lot of fun to talk to.
This also just in! Matthew Reynolds, a senior premier field engineer for Microsoft Services will be at the Scripting Guys booth tomorrow morning at 10:30. He will be here for about an hour or so to meet, greet, and answer questions. His TechEd session, “How Many Coffees Can You Drink While You PC Boots” is today, Wednesday June 13, at 5:00 PM. Matthew writes diagnostic scripts that are used by Microsoft Services with customers, he trains Microsoft Premier Support customers on Windows PowerShell usage, and he was a tech reviewer for the book PowerShell In Action.
I invite you to follow me on Twitter or Facebook. If you have any questions, send email to me at scripter@microsoft.com or post them on the Official Scripting Guys Forum. See you tomorrow. Until then, peace.
