Summary: Windows PowerShell MVP, Teresa Wilson, talks about events happening in the world of PowerShell.

Microsoft Scripting Guy, Ed Wilson, is here. It is the last Saturday of the month again, and the day that the Scripting Wife, Microsoft PowerShell MVP, Teresa Wilson, takes over the keyboard to share upcoming community events and news. I like to call it PowerShell Spotlight.

P.S.
Speaking of spotlight...I may get in trouble for this, but oh well...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you, Teresa!

Greetings scripters,

It appears that there is a lot going on in the next few weeks. First off, on Oct 3-4, there is the Silicon Valley Code Camp. Not a lot of Windows PowerShell there, but I would attend if it were not so far away. MVP Eric Courville is one of the speakers.

On October 28, Ed and I will be in Nashville, TN.  We talked with the leaders of the PowerShell User Group and the SQL User Group to come up with a plan to hold a special meeting so that Ed can make a presentation to both groups. The details are still being finalized, but you can mark the calendar for October 28 in Nashville. Here is a link for the meetup page that will be updated with details: Nashville PowerShell User Group.

October 30 brings something a little different—it is not PowerShell, but if you are interested, Ed will be speaking at the Killer Nashville writer's conference. His session is called Cops vs. Bad Guys: An In-Depth Look at Forensic Computer Analysis.

That’s it for conferences and speaking engagements for now.

The other exciting news is that Ed’s latest book is off to the printer. Preordering is available on Amazon: Windows PowerShell Step by Step (3rd Edition).

The last spotlight is for the PowerShell Summit NA 2016, which has a new name: PowerShell and DevOps Global Summit 2016. The call for speakers has some additional guidelines, and it is open until November 1. For more information, please read this announcement by Don Jones: Speaking at PowerShell Summit 2016: Topic Ideas for Aspiring Speakers

That is all I have for this month. Happy scripting and hope to see you soon!

~Teresa
