Summary: Microsoft Scripting Guy, Ed Wilson, talks about getting ready for TechEd Expo floor to open.
Well this morning came early – too early if you ask me. But then again, they didn’t ask me. We hustled downstairs and caught the shuttle to the Convention Center, got our breakfast, and soon we had people to talk to. First up was Boe Prox who saw the Scripting Wife's tweet as she provided our column location in the massive dining hall. Next up Brian Wilhite came sauntering by. As a matter of a fact, he came by the Scripting Guys booth and set up a couple of virtual machines this morning. Here is a picture of Brian hard at work.
It was not too long before Will Murphy and his cohort from Atlanta came by. They were talking to us about a real cool project they were engaged in with Windows PowerShell. They are developing a module to facilitate changing local SQL Server account passwords. Sounds impressive, and it is something I am anxious to find out more about.
We got to our booth, and wouldn’t you know that the Microsoft Surface team decided to help make us feel at home. Yep, I mean they literally brought in a Windows NASCAR car…dude, that absolutely rocks!
Luckily, Yuri and Tom are hanging out in the booth next to mine. You may remember them for their excellent security series that appeared on the Hey, Scripting Guy! Blog. They stopped by to say hi.
It was just a few minutes later that Kurt Hudson (one of the writers on my team) appeared with two custom Dr. Scriptos that we will be giving away. Dude, these rock.
As Kurt was heading back to his booth, the Scripting Wife's queue mate, Simon Skinner appeared. They spent a couple hours in line yesterday waiting for the chance to buy a couple of Surface RTs and Pros.
Well, I have some things I need to attend to. Today is going to be busy. I am conducting the Birds-of-a-Feather session, ITP04, RM. 264 with Windows PowerShell MVP, Hal Rottenberg, on Windows PowerShell Best Practices. This is at 3:00. Then I have a book signing at the O’Reilly booth, booth #511, at 6:30. We will have our booth open during the Expo Hall booth night from 6:00 – 8:00 tonight. It will be really cool.
